Help in choosing a mobile phone please

I own 2 Nokia 7600 and have been pleased with them. Due for contract renewal shortly. My sons who each have 2 Blackberry phones (work/play) both agree that a touch screen phone could not be mastered by this 'old fogey' too easily and suggest a qwerty type keyboard phone rather than touch screen. I like the Nokia keyboard for texts but perhaps someone can suggest a phone that still does have either a conventional keyboard or a qwerty keyboard but also has a (limited) 'touch screen' facility for a fair number of apps to be accessed. Phone needs to be light and quite small if possible with blue tooth for hands free and has a camera. (as have had many Nokia phones before therefore have plenty of chargers around house and cars which is most helpfull too). Am I asking for the moon ? Any help would be really much appreciated - thanks

Lots of touch screen handsets have the qwerty keyboard option, the nokia 5800 certainley does and will do all the things you desire.

5800? It doesn't have a keyboard except a virtual one.

I mean an alpha-numeric (or some call them 12 key) , the layout is the same as a physical keyboard as opposed to a qwerty keyboard, the functionality is the same as a physical keyboard and easily used with one hand :)

mine has a touch keyboard - that is laid out like an old phone.. and I love it..

No difference between having 'real keys' and vitural ones'...

Honestly - if you have a friend with an android - ask to try,.. it really is comfy... that said it took me a while to work out how to find the phone layout - over the qwerty one...

(You go to android market - click in the 'search' box.. and hold - you will then be given an option to choose a keyboard.. the lower one (can't remember what it is called is the one you want :) )

Thanks folks for the advice - would appear there is no such thing as a 'combination' phone that I was looking for. Bearing in mind the spec I am seeking (lightweight, non bulky, bluetooth, camera and access to some apps) and the advice from Tigsly above, then any particular make/model I should be considering that I could cope with without going on any courses to operate ?

there are a couple of phones that have both touch and type one is the Nokia C3 and the other is the HTC ChaCha also the BB Torch also the SE x10 Mini Pro (soon to be replaced with this better model) there is also the HTC 7 Pro and the HTC desire Z

but tbh I doubt you would not be able to get used to a pure touch screen device, whether that be a cheap android handset like the orange san fran or something higher end like an iphone/ galaxy S2
