in Water bills
Hi,
is it down to the landlord whether I can have a meter fitted or is it down to the bill payer? Or is it down to the tenancy agreement?
Thanks!

It is certainly not something you can do without the landlord's permission, and it may not even be up to him/her, sometimes the water is metered communally, and you pay pro rata. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

If you have a tenancy of 6 months or more than you may have a water meter fitted and there is nothing your landlord can do to stop this, even if it was in the tenancy agreement you wouldn't have one fitted the water industry act over rides any clauses regarding it.There's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.0 -

 So if I let my house out on a short term let, I could get it back in a year's time with an unwanted water meter that I then can't get taken out again? I'm really shocked at that.
Is that for Scotland too?Herman - MP for all!0 -
The water industry act only applies to england and wales as far I know and in England and Wales meter installation is free where as in Scotland you need to pay to have a meter installed. There's no sense crying over every mistake.
