Santander student credit card - Chance of getting accepted?

I want to upgrade my Santander current account to a student account soon. They also offer a credit card which I'm interested in getting to use to build up my credit score for the future.
I checked my credit score on experian and my score is around 880. Is this score good or bad? What are my chances of getting accepted for the credit card? I think I'm going to wait until I register on the electroral roll before I apply as this should help me (by how much?).
