Ryanair Hand Luggage

Hi
I've just bought some case this afternoon for our holiday in a couple of weeks flying with Ryanair from leeds/bradford. However depth is about 25cm and after looking on there website it states max depth 20cm.

Does anyone know how strict they are? Not sure whether to take them back to the shop ot not?

Sorry if i've posted this wrong, this is my first post. :rotfl:

very strict. It has to go in the rack at the boarding gate or they charge you £40 to put it in the hold.

So much as 1 inch over the allowed size and Michael O'Leary will personally throw you out of the airport.

  • Thanks very much for your comments. Decision made, i'm going to take the cases back for a refund and buy the ones from ebay that Superbiatch suggests. they seem perfect.

    This http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_36536+T40316_-1?breadcrumb=Home~txttripp is on offer,

but always double check the case in the shop with your own tape measure, best to double check.

And charge you £100 to do it.
  • and don't forget, you need to pay to use the steps to get from the standing to the fusilage....... otherwise you'll need to be a good jumper

    Welcome to the board BTW.
Is it a soft case or is it rigid around the sides?
If when filed it can be squeezed smaller that 25cm then it would be fine. The gate dragons let you put it in the "cage" yourself, and as long as you can squeeze it in then you are good to go. Our bags are more than 20cm when filled and we get on with them, just have to sit on them when we put them in the size checker:D
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I don't like that one, the wheels take up too much of your volume allowance. You are allowed 44 litres (to the maximum dimensions of 55x40x20cm) and that one only holds 27.
