Cardiff house prices.

No I wouldn't argue with that.
I want my house to pay for my retirement. If that's greedy then so be it.
I don't want house prices to fall and have less money. Whats wrong with that?
Fair enough, but why do you find it so hard to believe not everybody is as selfish as you?
The question would be if you had children would you still wnat house prices to rocket blocking them out of the market?Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

Percy,
I see your £2.10 savings have not increased during July. I do hope you have them invested in a decent savings account. I suppose 1 month's interest on £2.10 will be less than 1p, but I expect to see an increase in the next month or two (unless interest is added yearly, in which case I'll wait and see).

My £2.10 is currently earning 3% paid yearly :rotfl:
Its looking like my august update won't cahnge it much either.
As I say there is a plan and all being well this time next year I will own my own home (or at least have the deposit and be looking for the right one).Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

Does this plan include a lottery win before next August by any chance ? Or is your plan like one of Blackadder's, you know, one of those cunning ones ? :rotfl:30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -
I think it's clear to see that the likes of Sibley thrive on trying to make others jealous of him. The more he tries to do this, the more he seems to be missing something in his life. I suppose if he isn't content with what he's got, he thinks it will make him feel better by telling others that they are even less content, and somehow inferior to him. I suppose that's fair enough, if he wants to do that. Probably the best way to counter this behaviour is to point out that some of us don't give two hoots about his possessions and status. I kind of like Sibley in a way, because I am glad that I'm not him. If I was going to be jealous of anyone with more wealth than myself, it would be someone who quietly enjoys their life without telling others about how much better
You really have got me so totally wrong.
I don't really want anyone to be jealous of me. I certainly don't have enough money to be giving it the large one.
Really the whole reason I joined these sights was the fact I felt a gang of nasty ill wishing twisted people were targeting hard working home owner families and basically bullying them. I wasn't having it and gave them a dose of their own medicine.
They didn't and still don't like it.
To be honest the battle has been won now. House prices might drop a few % then rise but there will not be a crash.
I'm bored and think it's all pointless now. The bottom feeders like Geneer, Bruce Banner and Doire keep dragging up doom and gloom newspaper articles. Everyone is either happy or sad with 0.1% rises or losses in the index's.
Nothing is really happening. I expect I'm not the only person at the end of the road with it all. What plan do you have in place for your house to pay for your retirement?
I live in Bangkok. The rent I receive each month from my UK house will enough to live on. Quite easily.
I've given up all plans to sell due to the terrible rate sterling has against the Thai baht. I suppose that alone made me lose interest in house prices.
The low interest rates are the best thing that ever happened to me. Long may they continue.
I have children but think they should make their own way. Nobody gave me 1 pence and I made good.
I've seen many people inherit money and get help from their parents. They don't appreciate it.

Its a realistic plan which will work, but a lottery win would be helpful.
You have to admire my confidence here, I wouldn't post about it if I wasn't sure as I know if I fail the quotes would come back in force.

In which case, I am jealous of you. Even though you don't want me to be. :rotfl:
Seriously, I don't know, but I may been one of those who you might have "disapproved" of. Back in 2006, I predicted a crash, with house prices reducing by 25-35%. I certainly didn't want people to suffer, but I thought that a reminder of there being no such thing as a free lunch was due. I knew that what was happening around that time was unsustainable, and the sooner the crash came, the easier the recovery would be. Sadly, I believe the crash came too late. Others would say that it didn't come too late, or it didn't even happen. I think we can agree that without the fairly drastic steps taken by the government, my earlier predictions of house price drops may have been slightly underdone. I wasn't so sure that the government would do as much as they did to prop up the markets, but they have, so we will now see if it was the right thing to do. What I certainly do not want to see, is a return to the way things were. I think what we are going through now is probably the next best thing to what could have happened - a short, sharp correction. Yes, it would be nice if we could go back to easy credit and high HPI without facing the consequences (like we seem to have done this time), but I fear that eventually the government will not have the tools to patch up the problems that will surely follow.

Does that include a new plugs, an air filter and screenwash, or is it just an oil change ?30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -

Great. No doubt the £2.10 will be a lot higher in the next few months, but it would be comedy gold if by November is was £17.42. Then we'd really believe that your plan is more cunning than that of a cunning fox who had a degree in cunningness (is that a word ? It is now).30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older.
