Thanks for the suggestions. I will widen my search to GAP, M&S, H&M etc this weekend.

For clarity - I'm not saying jeggings & skinny jeans make a girl look a Trollope. It's my personal preference not to dress her in skinny jeans and jeggings.

The Trollope comment was about those prepubescent girls dressing in an inappropriate way. I'm sure we've all seen little kids in clothes that are inappropriate for their age ( and i blame the parent/s not the child). This is what I do not want her to dress in. When she is a teenager then I'm sure she'll make decisions about what to wear. As a 8 years old I want her to dress like an 8 year old and enjoy being a child while she can.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I strongly recommend GAP for jeans. And Boden/Next depending on your daughter's body shape.

I also think it's important for children to dress appropriately and have sometimes found it difficult (Next actually springs to mind here.) I couldn't care less where clothes are bought, but I will not buy anything thin & flimsy. I also think it's digraceful that boys' supermarket clothes, particularly t-shirts and tops are generally much better quality than girls' (in terms of material thickness, shape and designs. My girls will not wear figure hugging t-shirts.)

I have one skinny jeans & jeggings lover and another daughter that wouldn't be seen dead in such tight clothes, but I do think they are age appropriate and fairly inoffensive. If anyone shouldn't be wearing these things, it's most adults.
