Did you sign up to Vodafone with the CPW

If any of you went to the carphone warehouse and signed up to a deal with vodafone and you can't get a signal or aren't yet connected, you may have a free phone. Their computers went down over the past few days and the credit checks came back as a yes but didn't go through to vodafone. On the CPW computers it then showed as an incomplete check. No sim or phone was showing against peoples details held by CPW

I'm sure that this is the second time in recent weeks that there have been computer issues with Vodafone at various retailers.

I can't immediately think what the legal situation would be. As the retailer has handed over the handset and made clear that the contract is separate. But this is surely a moral issue (or a chance for a chance for some compensation if you are that way inclined!)

The CPW computers will still have all the data who took the contract out that they took in order to do the credit check, CPW will know who has them...
