Happy Birthday Beanie!!Sorry it's a bit late :bdaycake:
So much for a relaxing bank holiday, am having a mahoosive spring clean (ok ok i know it's not spring, but still!!) & i reckon i've worked harder than when i'm at work!!
I do love the feeling of being all sorted out though, i've added to my Eb@y pile & have 2 big bags for the charity shop.
Now i'm just crossing my fingers for no rain tomorrow so i can get out into the garden.....
Anyway, not one yesterday as i did a big grocery shop & batch cook (daal, potato & spinach curry, chicken in white wine & creamy salmon pasta, yum yum!), so well sorted for work lunches & quick teas for the days i can't be bothered to cook, but never left the house today so can declare number 14 please Spoon :jFebruary NSD challenge 5/150 -

Just swinging by with an update before I forget where I'm up to
Didn't get my running gear yesterday (didn't even go looking - just didn't feel up to being even sociable enough to catch a bus and try and explain to the chaps in the shop what I was after), but I did swing by work around 7pm - and managed to net quite a few Whoopsies (including three types of cake, which isn't a good idea when I'm calorie counting lol).
The haul also included a piece of (unsmoked) mackerel which is something I've never had before - so that became tea yesterday (would have been silly not to try it when it was reduced from £2.25 to 19p). Not an unpleasant fish in terms of flavour, but definitely one to have when home alone as I ended up eating it with my fingers in order to find all the bones
Also nipped into A!di to check out the fruit (trying to make myself eat more) and also came out with a new pair of walking boots and a shocking pink cycling jacket (in a smaller size than the white one I bought last year) - both of which were in their sale
Having picked up cakes yesterday I didn't venture down to check for the ones that were likely to be in clearance tonight..... so today is NSD #11, leaving me just one more to get to hit target. Still planning to go down to check for the two new flavours of cookies hitting reductions tomorrow evening (the lady who baked them on Thursday did waaaaaay too many for what we ever sell, so I'm pretty much guaranteed to get some at half price if I just time my visit right - don't think I dare leave it to see if they hit lower than that though)
Think my chap has decided me on the future (or not) of the relationship today. He's known for a couple of weeks that I was off for the three days this weekend, but having agreed on Fri to work yesterday and today he's also texted me tonight to say he's working tomorrow as well. It's now 14 days since I last saw him (which was when he had a hissy bit about me planning to rehome the dog as well as the fact I never let him off the lead, although last Sunday only got called off 'cos he was ill), and as I'm working next Sunday I can't see anything happening then (he'll almost certainly be working at least the Saturday). DD's been dropping big hints that my elder son and I should go to hers for a day the weekend after that, and then the one after that is the w/end of his cousin's wedding (which he's mentioned as a possibility for me going with him, but only to the evening do for me - and last I heard he was still waiting on the OK from his cousin). That's the wedding he wanted me to get my hair done 'properly' for - but having spent almost £245 on vets bills in the last 10 days I can't afford the £61 I was quoted - so when I tell him I've cancelled it I reckon he'll have another hissy fit and withdraw the tentative invitation. The weekend after that I'm at DDs from midday Sat until mid-morning Sunday looking after my GDs - so it's looking like it could be early October before we meet up again - and I can't work a relationship on thatI honestly don't know how he expected to build a relationship up with anyone though, as he's worked at least one day of just about every weekend since we started talking - and has darts matches 3 nights a week plus the odd Sunday !!!! Just don't know when I'm going to see him to tell him lol

Good to hear from you CW - it does sound as if the chap does not have room in his busy schedule to fit in a relationship with you. And I think the delay re the cousin's wedding is just his way of saying he's got cold feet - let's face it, if you were getting married, and a cousin asked if he could bring his new girlfriend to the evening do, you would say "of course you can bring her" wouldn't you? As would most people. Perhaps you should just phone him and say that as he is obviously busy at the moment, and you too have a lot on your plate, perhaps you should both just leave things at that and you both know where to find each other if you want to get in touch again.
Sorry about the tough time you're having, but I am sure you have been through worse and survived. One life - your life - live it!0 -
Thanks Nargle
I know he asked if I could attend the whole thing, but was told that wasn't possible as their finances are stretched enough for the event as it is - and that they'd have to get back to him over the evening do as if they let one person bring a guest it could open the flood-gates to others also wanting to (or moaning at the do once they realised the 'family only' rule wasn't kept to for everyone). I didn't really expect to be invited to the day time 'do' though, so that suited me just fine
But I know that one couple invited to DDs wedding (before it was cancelled) said they'd have a problem getting baby-sitters and asked if they could pay the additional charge for taking their kids (there wasn't a 'no children' rule, they just weren't inviting young children cousins and such other extended family members due to the cost), and if roles had been reversed I'd have suggested to my cousin I paid the extra so I could have company........
It's not a conversation I'd have over the phone give a choice, even if he liked using one (it's very, very rare that he calls instead of texting) - and that wouldn't get me back the DVD box set he borrowed a few weeks back eitherNot sure if he's got darts tomorrow (normally does on a Monday, but suspect he may not with it being a B/H), but it he doesn't I'm going to try and go over to his for a short while for the dreaded 'chat'. Failing that I'll just have to hope he doesn't have any after work plans for Tuesday. Wed & Thur are darts, so after that it would be Friday before I get a chance !!!!
