What outputs does the laptop have, and what inputs does the TV have?
If it's a reasonably modern laptop it may have a HDMI port, in which case if the TV is a reasonably modern flatscreen it'll almost certainly have a hdmi input, in which case a simple hdmi cable is all that would be needed.
Otherwise you may be looking at DVI cables (possibly with an adaptor at one end), or VGA cables and a separate cable for sound.0 -
2yrs old tv and lappie.0

Any idea what connections they have/the model names?
At a guess given the age you should be looking at HDMI, but that's a shot in the dark0 -
did neither of these devices come with user manuals?0
