    You need either this:

    WN6431.jpg

    Or this:

Provided your TV and laptop has either this:

    VGA-Port-300x225.jpg

    Or this:

Do you want to feed Video only to the TV, with Audio going to a separate system, or do you want Audio and Video to go through the TV?

    This page

    http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/advent/laptop/6311.htm

    says you have

    Ports
    1x Microphone
    1x Headphone
    3x USB 2.0
    1x Kensington Lock
    1x ExpressCard slot
1x 4-in-1 card reader (Supports SD, MS, MS Pro, and MMC cards)
    1x LAN
    1x S-Video (TV-Out)
    1x VGA

What sockets does your TV have?

No sound with a VGA cable. You'll also need to connect up to a decent speaker system unless your laptop has very good speakers.

A VGA cable passes Video only - you won't get sound through the TV using this.

In addition to the VGA cable, you could feed the Headphone out from the laptop to an Audio In on the TV, if available, or use a USB DAC to go from USB port on the laptop to Audio In on the TV

What you need is one of these:

    goldsvgacable.jpgVGA-3.5mm-Cable.jpg

Or at worse a normal vga with:

    3.5mm%20cable2.jpg

As long as there's a 3.5mm Audio In on the TV.....
