Merging the discussion boards

I have been looking at the forum numbers and the Debate Economy & House Price in 'Pure Money' has had between 8 and 15 people viewing today, while Discussion Time has had hundreds. I noticed that they also have many of the same topics under discussion and often with the same people on both boards.

Given that the Pure Money section is a mainly for support and assistance, it seems odd to have a pure discussion board grouped in with these. Wouldn't it be far better to group all the discussion boards together?

The discussion boards can get a little 'heated' so isn't it better to have them all in the 'Arms' where vunerable people with real problems can't wander in there and end up with a stream of abuse? (the Pure Money section where the Debate the Economy & House Prices lives has the Debt & Bankruptcy boards located there, plus the other support and assistance boards).

I have been told that the Economy board was initially created to prevent people from posting House Crash messages in the Housing boards, but that time has passed and with so few posters remaining in the Economy board, perhaps now is the time to move it to the discussion boards without having to worry about a migration back to the housing board? It would also open these discussions to a wider audience and stop a very few people from dominating the discussions and getting into a strange 'bull' and 'bear' gang mentality.

There's a basic flaw in your reasoning, MFW_10YRS.

You are expecting common sense and logic to prevail in the organisation of the boards in this forum ... ;)
