New Boiler Quote - Fair Price?

I have received a quote from some local plumbers (who came recommended to me), if someone could have a scan over the work involved and the quoted cost and see if it is reasonable it would be greatly appreciated...

Work:
Remove existing Boiler and make good wall (boiler is currently mounted partially inside the wall cavity - apparently big no no as if there is a leak the gas fills up the wall cavities of the house)
Install a new Ideal Logic heat only gas boiler
Alter gas pipe as needed
Rewire boiler as required and install an earth bond on meter

Ideal Logic 12kw heat only gas boiler and flue
condense trap
automatic bypass valve
x100 inhibtor
x400 sludge remover
copper tube and fittings
prestex fittings
overflow pipework and fittings
sundries
wiring
Labour

Net - £1971.87
Total + VAT - £2366.24

Also, I think the system needs power flushing which he said would be £200-300 (if needed).

Is this quote fair?

Thanks in advance

Good morning: avoid the Ideal:eek: Viessmann Vitodens 100 Compact is a superior product with 5 year parts and labour warranty. Would also recommend a magnetic filter.

More quotes are in order and compare like for like. Check RGI registration here and ask to see the photo ID..check reverse for qualifications.

Expensive considering what boiler has been quoted.

These boilers are nearly given away with cornflakes in order to get some installers to use them.

You would at least want the magnaclean and powerflush included in this price.
  • Avoid that boiler at all costs! Would be a reasonable price if it wasn't such a bad boiler. I'd be wanting a vailant/WB/Viessmann installed.
  • Ha
For that price you should ask for a Worcester you can get 5 years warranty

I think the Logic now has a 5yr warrentie? But you are better off with a Vaillant.
Condense trap and by-pass, will be in the boiler.
x400??? he should use x800 and powerflush!!!!
Overflowpipe???????? He should use 32mm waste pipe outside min.
Also fit a magnaclean or spirotech filter etc.

Get a couple of more quotes.

The price seems very high for that boiler.
Should be more like £1500 tops

Can't think of any make of boiler that I could fit for £1500.

£1800 at the very least if it was a complete straight swap.

Your prices are way too high then compared to mine.
