Can anyone advise what I need to get in order that this PC connects via my Wireless router ( currently used with my work laptop/broadband connection)..non at all pc literate...any help is appreciated..Thanks

You will need a USB wireless adapter or a wireless PCI card (that slots inside your computer). Alternatively if you can locate your computer near your router you should be able to connect an ethernet cable.

In the high street you can get a Belkin wireless usb adapter for £24.99 from Argos - catalogue number 676/6647.I have one of these in one of my kids' machines and it works fine.

You might get one a little cheaper if you shop online (e.g. £21.77 at PC World online special), but you will have to pay postage too.

    Must say.

I totally refuse to deal with a company that uses an INDIAN customer support.

It's bad enough trying to understand a broad Irish accent.

I refuse to ring an 0870 number where you have to constantly ask the person that you are speaking to, to repeat what they have said time and time again, therby doubling the time spent on the phone - AT 7P PER MINUTE (1899).

    No Thanks Dell.

its not the fault of the CS advisor if he speaks with an accent, he's thousands of miles away, its Dells for cutting costs by moving call centres.
You must deal with very few companies as most have their call centres there now!

Thanks for that Sam. That number only connects you ro an english operator who then puts you through to India.:(

Sorry Antonio, but where exactly did I infer that the fault lies with the OPERATOR??

What I did say was that I refuse to deal with any COMPANY that uses overseas call centres. Their reasons don't interest me. I am only interested in how I personally am affected and that, since I have a choice, I will always prefer to deal with a clear ENGLISH speaking person.

    Any wrong in that?

Presumably you also don't use insurers like Direct Line who use call centres where the staff have SCOTTISH accents?

Personally I have found that the problem with the Dell Indian operation isn't the quality of their English, it's the quality of the phone line - often so faint I can hardly understand what is being said.
