best of luck for your ebay sales dont forget to see if anyone from work wants to buy anything .. day after payday is a geat time to be asking.

car wise i have always gone vauxhall and never had any problems but cant guarentee that, I wouldnt suggest buying for the same car supermarket as before unless there going to chuck in a free warrenty thats worth more than the paper its on.
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

  • Thanks for that, I am putting a list at the minute of things I am selling, it will go up in the staff kitchen at work once it is done.

I never really realised until this evening how much stuff i actually have that I rarely / never use!

I have still been looking at possibilities with my car this evening, my mother had suggested that I lease a small car for £150ish a month like she does.
That means she gets a new car every year and also never pays maintenance.

I am not sure, what does everyone think?

    Thanks

That could be an option as your clocking on the miles but you will never own the car you are actualy paying their depreciation on the car before they sell it.

BUT if it works out cheaper than what your paying on finance its definatly an option, another option is sell your car privately and get a 4 / 5 year old diesel saloon for the same money.

  • The problem I have is, if I sell the car privately, I know of current problems with it, as I have explained on this forum.

I believe that it’s enough to put any buyer off, and if it was at auction, enough to make it hit rock bottom.

Likewise, if I don’t declare it on a private sale, it could still come back to haunt me once the new owner has took it away!

I still owe £4700 on the car from my loan, so the stupid £2500 offers I have been getting just are not feasible.

    Thanks

  • dumpt the car and buy a decent japanese model with Full Service History.

Something like a Nissan Almera or Toyota Corolla - maybe not glamorous but ultra reliable and low running costs - inc insurance.

Money is too precious to waste on car maintenance.

    Good luck!!!!!

  • Just a quick one guys,
I had a phone call from my bank this morning asking me to come in to talk about offering me a loan over 2/3 years to pay off my credit cards.

I thought the timing was a bit strange, but what do people think?

    Thanks

I think NO. they have seen you are struggling and want to tie you into paying more to them back.

Successful Consolidation takes a very strong willed person to say, I will not get into more debt. I certainly didnt manage it, as I had a "nice small loan" stretching into eternity, and some lovely cleared credit cards which I ran up spending on nice things. Ended up right in the you know what, hence arriving here.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I agree with Lynzpower about consolidation.

I did it three times over the years and the first two times ended up in even bigger trouble.

It was only on the third time when I had a real lightbulb moment that I was able to self-discipline enough to keep on the straight and narrow. And I ended up paying that loan off three years early.

The best plan is to make some big savings on your outgoings and throw all you can at your highest rate debt until it clears, then onto the next highest and so on.
