I suggest that you may be making the problems for yourself then. You cannot insist on no refunds, if a buyer claims SNAD then paypal will almost always find for the buyer.

Oh, believe me, the goods are described as non-functioning, dead, duff. Certainly no 'not as described' at least!

So do you deliberately make sure the item is broken before dispatching it?

No, I only sell stuff that isn't in good nick via ebay. There is a thriving market in dead electronics as fixer-uppers :)

I see so many returns of "faulty" radios where I work. It seems that most consumers don't understand the concept of "reception," and think that if they don't get a station it's the device that's the blame, rather than the absence of signal.

This buyer may be one of those people.

I saw a girl the other day who assumed TV signal worked like wifi, and that she could piggyback off of an aerial on her street. She was amazed when I told her she'd need to plug the TV into the aerial.

When dealing with buyers, it's best to assume they know NOTHING and spoonfeed the most basic information slowly. This buyer may then realise his foolishness and will drop the case.
