Sky Broadband?

I am thinking of getting Sky Broadband and Phone line, but the telelphone socket looks like it might need to be connected back to the exchange as it just bleeps when you put a phone into it? Any ideas how much this would cost or do Sky connect you back for free?

Did you know you can get a new phone line from Sky?

When you select Broadband & Talk you'll be asked to enter your phone number. If you don't have a compatible line, you can get a new one from Sky. The usual cost for this is £39 but you can get a new line for just £10 when you join Sky TV and take Sky Line Rental today.

What do you mean by 'bleeps'? Is there a dial tone on it (continuous steady tone)? If not it will need reconnecting, which is chargeable.

There is no dial tone just a tone like it's engaged all the time, any idea the cost to be reconnected? and might have to see what other deals are about other than Sky thanks.

Reconnection charges start at about £80 up to £130.
But it does not sound as if your line is disconnected-if it was, you would hear nothing.

Thanks for the info macman i will have just put my postcode in and this is what it say's i get the Broadband and Phone, also it say's:

You don't currently have an active landline so any Sky Broadband and Talk products are dependent on you also taking Sky Line Rental. We will need to arrange for an engineer visit to install a new Sky phone line at your property as part of the checkout process.
