Samsung D500/BT Mobile/£15pm for 6 months - good deal?
Hi,
I have been thinking about going back on a contract and getting a snazzy new phone (have been on PAYG the last year or so).
The Samsung D500 looks ideal (decent camera, plays MP3s, Bluetooth) so I've been trying to find a decent deal... I'm currently with Orange PAYG so going with Orange isn't an option (can't be bothered with transferring away then back again).
I saw BT Mobile has a deal at http://www.bt.com/homeplan/specialoffers_detail.jsp?content_id=HP-OFFERDETAILS-OFFER18&obsNoSee=Y&vStore=1360&obsPage=/homeplan/home.jsp&obsType=LINK&obsOID=98364
which looks good...
£15pm for 1st 6 months, then £32 (but you can downgrade to a lower tariff)
Is there anything better than this out there - and what are people's experiences of BT Mobile? They use O2 as a carrier don't they?
Many thanks,
alfabet

I got mine from Onestopphoneshop on a 12 month deal with 10 months half price (they've now changed it to 7 months)
I spotted a deal that was a 100xnet 12m contract with 7 months half price, details here: http://www.fonetasticmobile.co.uk/1...s.php?item=3173 also the offer I took with onestopphoneshop can be found here: http://www.onestopphoneshop.com/our...D500&TAR=RELAX2 it does default to the 18m contract so just change it to 12m to check it out.
Hope that helps.2p off is still 2p off!0 -
It's the cheapest I can find it on a non cashback deal. I've been thinking about going with it for a couple of weeks now. I keep hoping that Orange will start doing the SVP C500 free on their £15 a month deal but no sign of that.0

I think BT Mobile use Vodafone now.Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.0 -
bt deal is better. tmob tariff can not change before 11 months, also becareful of 18 months contract.bt cs is very slow. if u want how many minutes left. u have to speak to a person to find out.lenghty business.otherwise signal is better than 3.Regard

e2save is definatly the best
see this. its brilliant, click
http://www.e2save.com/?money4me1020728
then select the 3rd phone across d500 on orange, it breilliant. check it, 200+200mins free anytime £15 a month plus insurance free0 -
The BT Mobile deal seems better if you want the phone as cheap as possible. The e2save offer is for 5 months half price line rental available as a cashback, meaning you have to pay £30 a month and claim half back. After 5 months it goes back to £30 a month. I don't know at what point you can change to a lower tariff but even if it is after 5 months (more likely 6) and you go to Orange's £15 plan, the phone is still more xpensive than on the BT Mobile deal.0

Bt mobiles use the t-mobile network as do virgin.I had a bt deal a few months ago and couldn't understand why i couldn't get a strong signal as i assumed bt would be the same as o2.I rang them asking why i could never get a strong signal, thats when i found out they use the t-mobile network.I said the same to them as i said to virgin when i had bought a phone from them and 3 sim cards to put the whole family on to use the 3p texts. In none of either providers paperwork did they state they use the t-mobile network or i wouldn't of bothered buying one as it has never been and good for signals or reliabilty where i live as one2one or t-mobile.
The good thing is with o2 if you ring them direct and say you want a contract with them, explain about the tarrif you can get from say like E2 etc including phone half price line rental etc but DON'T tell them it's a cashback deal and they will normally match it.
I just took out the o2 200 deal which gives you 200 x-network minutes + 200 free texts every month (doubled to 400 on each for 3 months) for £15.00 (I also got a brand new Nokia 6230,which i think is the best phone on the market at the minute).....(half price line rental for 12 months/with a 12 month contract) a month as e2 were offering(as a cashback deal) but this way they only take out the £15.00 a month and i don't have to send any bills in to claim my cashback etc.....
Hope this helps you......©..®..(TM) NothingVentured.

Used to use T-mobile
Bt mobile are now using the VODAFONE network
@ IZZY some info for you
When a contract is sold on Bt mobile you have the 14 day 'cooling off period' if you return the phone within the 14 days CPW/E2save or any other retailer for that matter should contact BT to obtain a disconnection reference...
This was NEVER done with your contract hence why you still kept getting bills.... BT are quite right to keep billing you, It should be cpw/e2save who have to pay your line rental off to BT to close your contract... annoying but the way it works unfortunately
Nobody should get this problem in the future with BT mobile. as the way CPW/e2save deal with the disconnection within the cooling off period changed as of the 4th of this month!if i had known then what i know now0 -
Had lost of problems with BT Mobile billing recently. Thay didn't bill me in Jan then billed me for 3 months (£60) in Feb. Still trying to sort it out at the moment and the helpdesk has been a waste of time. Do just be careful and keep your eyes on the bills and Direct Debits0

some ppl told me that its £15 for 6 months, then u are allowed to change the price plan after 6 months, down to £12 a month?
is that true? i am confused, then how long is the contract?0
