Infrared Heat Lamps

do they help ease pains such as sciatica?
How much do you need to pay for one that does the job?
My mil has lots of joint pain and sciatica and I know that heat helps her get a bit more comfortable, she uses hot baths and water bottles to help at the moment, but they aren't always convenient, so I was wondering if a infrared heat lamp might be a better option for her and maybe the effects would last longer.
Does anyone else have any experiences of them?

Also consider an electric heat pad, like this:

I got one after injuring my neck and upper back in a car accident, and it's far better than a hot water bottle. You can wrap it round the affected area, and as it's flat, it's more comfy to lie on it compared to a hot water bottle.
I've also used it to help period pain, by tucking it down my trousers while I've been watching TV/on the PC etc
I would highly recommend it.Here I go again on my own....0 -
thats a good idea too, I've never seen them before.
