Didn't even have to have an ESA/ ATOS medical

What a relief!

My letter came today to say I have been placed in the WRAG.
I Sent my form off well over two months ago and have since been sick with worry. However today I received that dreaded brown envelope, and inside was: my acceptance letter, no demeaning medical to attend. So they're not all bad?

My Social worker is also good enough to come with me to any WRAG meetings I am required to attend to tell them I am far from fit to work.

Tonight I will sleep for the first time in weeks.

I have been lurking on here for several weeks reading all the ESA postings and I thank you all for your advice

I have heard a few on other forums in the last few days saying the same - no medical. I am wondering if they are calming down *a little* with the recent negative Atos report.

You must be very relieved - that's good news :)

    no demeaning medical to attend.
Speaking personally, my medical was professionally handled, the doctor did her best to submit an accurate report.
I have read the report, and find it only inaccurate in areas which I did not highlight as a problem on the ESA50.
  • Anubis - Thanks hey! Yes maybe, lets hope the pressure eases for us all.
Rogerblack - Glad to hear your case was handled professionally too. Perhaps I should have said I felt that personally I would have found the whole process of attending a medical demeaning. Of course I am unaware how demeaning a medical would actually have been because I never even went. Hope that makes more sense.

Overall I was just trying to gee up those of us who are yet to go through this process.

I never attended a medical when I claimed DLA many years ago, The Doctor came to my home, and my own Doctor was there too (convenience), calming me down at the time. I darn't claim ESA though. To frustrating! I force myself to work! :( (Hard going)

Well done though. It's nice to read successful posts :)
  • i suppose the negative in me ask the question will paper reviews speed up transfers?
but if someone clearly scores 15 or more points whats the point of doing medicals

But still innacurate, which is not good, because if they can mess up those areas, what is to say, your next medical the innacurate bits wont be about where you do indicate there is a problem...

Congratulations, I recommend ringing them up and asking for a copy of the medical so you cna check it for innacuracies that they may try to use against you at a later date, and also so you can see when they reckon you will have a magic cure and be fit for work (it will say something like will be fit for work in X months probably). That timescale is where you can expect to be under scrutiny again.

ATOS wont be happy, nor assessors, they will be losing out on being paid for those medicals...
