what pre paid card is best

going to greece in august for 2 weeks where i am getting married also,i was thinking of getting a pre paid card to load money into for taking with me anyone recommend any cards that i can get quickly,and the best around as in lesser fees and other costs.

I got CaxtonFX only to pay for Ryanair flights. Didn't cost me anything, does not have any fees at all and works quite well (I've used it in Spain, to pay and cash machines).

Travelex Cash Passport Globe ordered via TopCashBack(or Quidco if you have an existing account) is probably the best all round option.
You can pick it up at the airport after four hours if the cap fits.

I got a Fairfx Euro card which arrived within a few days. Good rate of exchange (at the time) and clear fees. 1.50 euros each time you withdraw.

I put 801.50 euros on mine so I could draw 800 out (I needed this for a flat rental) and then only needed 600. I was able to draw the 600 out of the atm without any extra charge. So I drew 600 and that debited my account with 601.50. Balance of 200 remains.

I was happy with it and especially the good exchange rate.

Doesn't really fit the OP's circumstances. You wanted an exact amount of Euros in order to pay a bill.
Not the same as general holiday spending.

There is no per transaction fee on Caxton. There is only the 2.75% markup when loading the card. A €50 meal will take exactly €50 off the balance.

It is 2.99% and you are wrong. They shave 2.99% off the exchange rate. That is exactly the same as a 2.99% transaction charge.

As for the currency card, they still take a mark up from the exchange rate, which again is exactly the same as a transaction charge.

Currently the rate available with Mastercard is 1.151860. Caxton(though now on VISA) is offering 1.1160.
A difference of more than 3.5 cents per pound. So that works out to a penalty of more than 3% per transaction from what could be had from a fee free Mastercard.

Hi, just booked flights with Ryanair & followed the advice & used a Fairfx PrePaid MasterCard. However, their site wouldnt accept it as a prepaid & would only allow the booking to process if I re-selected it a Standard MasterCard (with a fee then added of over £50!) Clearly a con but any advice on how best to get the refund that I feel I am due....... Thankx ......
