Thanks guys for the congrats. Signature for the challenge is now updated but I will wait to update my debt signature until later in the month.

The biggie on ebay was a strange musical instrument that my dad used to play. It was sat under his spare bed gathering dust when we cleared out his house, and just went into our garage with his other stuff waiting for me to pluck up the energy to sort things out.

We had absolutely no idea it would fetch so much. If someone had approached me a few months ago, I would probably have given it away!

What is really good about this challenge is that almost all of the money raised has gone to the credit cards as overpayments. So that is £3000 of overpayments in 4 or 5 months! It is certainly making a difference to my DFD!

I need to carry on in the same way for the rest of the year. Don't want to take my foot off the gas, although I don't think there will be many more £700 ebay things lurking in the garage!!

Just wanted to add my congratulations to Hypno on reaching gold - it's so inspiring to read of successes.

I need to have another sort out for Ebay and Amazon but have been too busy at work and at the weekends to do this.

However I did win a competition via Pigsback - 2 tickets to Justin Timberlake competition plus a night in a luxury hotel - and have given it to DS and his partner as an early birthday present. I will still buy a token present for the actual day but it will save me money as I now have a budget for birthday presents etc. If I can get a suitable voucher from Pigsback I will save the whole of the budget for his birthday so will be able to add it to my total. I only found Pigsback via this site and it has saved me lots of money on presents and this competition win is the icing on the cake.

Another challenge for the next 6 months would be great as I would like to pay for Christmas this way.

Maybe before we start the next challenge it would help if people posted a breakdown of their totals from this challenge so that we are able to assess the best way of making money on the side? (e.g. Ebay/Amazon/Matched betting/switching supply/clicks....)

    Hi folks,
I have a dilemma. I got word this morning of a windfall (no outlay, nothing) I'm getting in a few weeks time, £2232 to be exact. Is it fair to add this to my total? Would like everyone's honest opinion please.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

    Hi Unix
What Wilf said! And Jet, come to that! And something I said ages ago, the competition element of this is only against ourselves, *between* us is a huge sense of support. Put it in there, and carry on, maybe. How much are you in debt by? Do you want a little splurge, like southernscouser and his fishing gear?

Just to show how individual all this is, I'll type in what I was going to type anyway, in this post.... I went into town to hand in my remortgage application, no problem, then I took a bill back to Sainsbury - they charged me twice for something about two weeks ago, just an accidental double click on the till, so I was refunded £1.94, and I'd never have bothered before this. Then, I *did* buy a 2nd hand DVD, but it was only £2, and I didn't buy another one for £3 - I actually put it back on the shelf. And I picked up 50p that was on the floor. And when I went to the supermarket, and picked up some quorn, I actually went back to the shelf and put it back, remembering that I have some red lentils at home. £1.94 + £3 + 50p £1.79 = such little decisions and activities, and I saved myself a total of £7.23. I'm really startled to add it up myself. So, £7.23, or £2232?:rotfl: .... I had to go advanced to get the emoticon!
