  • and it's a bit more clutter out of my house!!

Thats exactly the way I see it, Im sure the buyers at the car boot sales want you to give the stuff away! I know they are there for a bargain but some people just take the mickey! In the end I did cut my prices right down, purely for the reason that I didnt want to take it back home!

I still have loads of stuff but some of it may as well go straight in the bin, its seen about 4 boot sales and had no interest!
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!
  • was it a bit easier this week without the kids jet? I was thinking of you when I got up this morning!

  • I've been going nowhere with the challenge (and DFW!) for weeks now, although I've been reading the threads. Have had a bit of a stressful time lately, mainly with my job but that's gonna change as I have a fabulous new job to start a week tomorrow!

I've also let my OU course drift too, meeting my tutor tomorrow for some extra guidance to try and get back on track. The job has just taken out all my motivation, energy and oomph from me so fingers crossed I'll pull myself together and make it to the target!

Well done to everyone else that's been still struggling on!

I took the kids but my friend, her bf, her daughter and Mum came with their car so there were more pairs of eyes on the kids!! - and I could take them to the portaloo!!

I ended up selling kids clothes at 20p each!! - including next, elle, dkny etc...

    Hi All,

Was intending to do some car boots soon, but judging from other people's take home I might just take them to charity shop as I really can't be bothered getting up early on a weekend!

I'm glad to say I've passed the bronze stage now on £1023, but will still continue on ebay, amazon - may even try a car boot! I'm hoping to get a good new job soon (waiting to hear about interviews) and that means relocating from my parents place so may even mean that I can buy my own place this year (fingers crossed) so the less I have to clutter up place and more I have in bank the better as far as I'm concerned!

Car is very ill though and I think I will get a large bill from garage with it, have had to spend a bit of money to save (Barclays are going to hate me and cancelling my cover with Green Flag as they sold me the wrong cover and left me stranded 200 miles from home (upgraded bank account, got free recovery) but saved around £500 cost of transporting car home otherwise and maybe fine off Police for having a unroadworthy car on road and more damage to car trying to drive it home.

Hope everyone's challenge is going ok.

Just updated as I have just finished a wave of jobs for TNS. Back at Uni f/t tomorrow so my attention is going to be getting split a million and one ways but I shall persist with the challenge. Since I joined in with the challenge 2 1/2 wks ago its been brill having a shared goal with so many :)

p.s I wanted to ask everyone, in regards to bank accounts, where are you stashing the money from the challenge? I am undecided as to what to do as I already have 7 and cannot be doing with opening another solely for this!

U could put it in with your mortgage savings where it will earn good interest?

Not sure at moment, will carry on with challenge but may stick to Bronze as a lot of the things I have sold were more value than what I've got left. May upgrade in a few weeks time depending on how things are going, I was hoping to get around 3k by the end of the year but 2k in 6 months may be a bit too much for me at the moment.

I want to try and de-clutter as much as possible this year in hope that I do move out of my parents place and have then got a good substantial deposit.

Mum buying a younger car than mine and mine braking over weekend - with no symptoms but looks like a head gasket failure  I'm starting to think I'm going to have around £2k bill from mechanic and really like a younger car - mine's 7.5 years old.

May put a few things on the next 10p ebay day and dip toe in water, see how they go.

Thanks for the response Jet. I have earmarked the olympic funds for quite a few things (going beyond bronze!) that will save me dipping into my 'other' savings hence why I don't want to lump it in with other money (I am loathe to spending money I have saved lol). Well, I might just bung it in my ICEsave account as its my easy access savings a/c
