I'm just getting the hang of this cashback thing - wow:T

I signed up to quidco and rpoints ages ago and never did anything with the accounts  I now realise that I've missed out on loads with all the matched betting I did for the MFN challenge b4 Xmas

My rpoints account has got 500 points in and I just signed up to betandgame.com to get an extra 1000 - am I right in thinking that this is 15 real english pounds? :p

I also used quidco for the zurich link but can't figure out how to withdraw the money? :o

Am really going to bed now....

  • re: rpoints

if it's the 500 bonus points on your statement then it only becomes active once you've been awarded 2500 points... message me if you have any questions or if you need some help.

and yes... it is 15 english pounds. 1 rpoint = 1p

  • I'm a total and utter twit!

I've been ebaying furiously, and making a nice little bundle, then I find a wonderful pair of cowboy boots on eBay (not for me, we said we'd find a pair for OH's brother)... anyway...I made sure they were what he wanted, and watched them for a while, then made a bid.... and won them.... problem is, they're in the States and I forgot that their shoe sizes are bigger than ours! I emailed the seller and grovelled but he's already posted them so I suppose I have to confess all.

I suppose I can put them up again....

  • Hi everyone - been catching up with all the posts - this must be one of the most popular threads at the moment. Some great stories - well done (and commiserations where appropriate - poppycracker I'm sure the "genuine US" cowboy boots will sell again).

Bit of a mixed week for me. Started well when the daughter of a friend of mine who is a trainee hairdresser cut and coloured my hair on Sunday. Result was fab; I had already made an appointment for yesterday so the saving is genuine; she said she didn't want paying but I insisted on giving her some Arcadia vouchers which I got free from Pigsback - a real win win situation as she was delighted with these and according to her mum went straight off to Top Shop. Unfortunately she doesn't get home to see her parents very often otherwise this could be a regular saving for me. Still I have asked her mum to let me know when she is coming home again.

Then my car went in for service and although this is budgeted it cost more than I hoped (doesn't it always) and I had to use the car service budget to pay for the repairs to my storm damaged roof and the insurance company still hasn't paid out. The service is on a cc so I hope I get the insurance money before the cc payment is due - would hate to pay interest on this card.

Mid week some of my Ebay items sold for more than I expected - best results were from some expensive toiletries which have been given to me and I can't use as I have a skin condition. A bottle of Jo Malone shampoo sold (with postage because it was quite heavy) for more than the shop price! This has been decorating my dressing table since Christmas 2005 because I liked bag - this challenge has really inspired me to take a good look around for things I don't use.

And to complete the roller coaster ride that this week has been I went to buy a new mac for me and a new jacket for DH (both needed and budgeted) - got a 10% reduction off the mac as one button had come off (it was in the pocket so I can sew it back it on) so very MSE you might think. Unfortunately I got suckered in and bought some more items which in all honesty fall into the "want" not "need" category  I blame the spring weather - it always makes me feel like buying new clothes  Plan to take a good hard look at them again and return as much as I can otherwise some of my money for nothing gained on this challenge has effectively disappeared. Feel free to strip me of my bronze medal for succumbing to the drug of retail therapy.

    Hi

Got another £5 to add - joined a Barclays offer a few months again that gave you £20 (four lots of £5) back if you sent htem your petrol receipts. Anyway, you cuold cancel within the free period but keep all the free vouchers and still send off for this cash back. So my first £5 came today. I guess I'll take off the 32p postage!! :D

    So £4.68 to add. :)

Off to post more ebay stuff so once I've got final profit late I'll update.
Lots of items ending today have no bids on :(
