Hi All,
Does anyone have any experience of Citi Bank, are they a good bank to bank with and deal with. Do they have telephone banking, online banking, good customer service, easy to pay into etc?
Thanks

In my experience they're OK as long as you never need to contact their (Indian) call centre.Stompa0

I have just opened an account with them, and I have to say that I am very pleased with them so far. I have contacted their call centre and found them to be helpful and knowledgable.
They have telephone and online banking both of which I find to be excellent.
Unless you live in London or Manchester, paying money into the account will incur delays of 4 days for cash. Cheques take 5 days - but you can post cheques to citibank or pay it in via a branch or lloyds.
Hope this helps0 -

It's worth noting that they provide free postage paid envelopes for this purpose.Stompa0 -
I've just opened an account and I rang up to query something, the staff were very helpful and although it was an overseas call centre which can sometimes be a bit hit or miss, they were very hepful and knowledgable and keen to help.
My only small gripe is I sent off my stuff to open an account in the first week of Dec (around the 8th) and my PIN no's have only just arrived but I am still to receive cards etc, but I am realistic that identity and credit checks take time and Christmas and New Year threw a further delay, it would have been nice to have a facility to track online!£2 Coin Savers Club (Christmas)- £86£1 Jar (Christmas)- £29Christmas Vouchers Saved: £1450 -

So far I am impressed with the application process, both speed and quality of communications.
I have just discoveredd thanks to dexters_mum though that Cash paid in through a LTSB Branch takes 4 days to clear!
Which is a bit of a problem for me and that is a hell of a long time.0 -
sgx.saint, might be an idea to keep some cash in another, easily accesible account or if you have internet banking on your non Citibank account see how long an internet transfer of funds will take.£2 Coin Savers Club (Christmas)- £86£1 Jar (Christmas)- £29Christmas Vouchers Saved: £1450

Hi dexters_mum,
Yes, I have three current accounts, so I will keep some cash spare in one and then I will transfer some over by BACS.
It should take three working days.
I do pay cash in on a semi-regular basis, so I might close one of my other accounts and just swap between Yorkshire Bank and CitiBank.0
