Your quite right of course. Thing is, lots of people are desperate/gullible/stupid or whatever and their life is hard enough as it is without these scumbags stealing from them.
Just because they (may) have the above qualities doesn't mean they should be robbed, often of every penny they have.
I spend a considerable amount of my time annoying/frustrating and taking revenge on these people which gives them less time to do it to others.
Its also one of the most entertaining things one can do on the net :beer:You have been reading.....another magnificent post by garethgas :beer:0 -
Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce scamwarners.com - lots of peer support for anyone who has expereinced these kinds of scams.
And anyone wanting revenge... 419eater.com0 -

No I am sure they found me on jobsite.co.uk
I have had a few emails similar to this - I am registered on a jobsite and if the scammers register as employers they can view your CV and they will know what type of work you are looking for.
For instance I had put down that I would love to work in a kitchen...a few days later I get an email "thank you for your application for kitchen porter - your application has been successfull ......" it is a scam and I realised it because I had not applied for any jobs at that stage but because it is so personal to you, you would assume it is legit.
Rule of thumb - NEVER EVER USE WESTERN UNION to send anyone money - unless it is a family member and really really urgent, I use paypal when I am sending money to anyone because paypal can freeze the payments if you report it as a scam. Also ensure to have verified by visa set up on your card so that your personal password is required for any online purchases, and when putting in card details ensure the that the address bar on the page is https:// the s at the end is letting you know it is a secure area for you to enter your details.0 -
Hey – we saw you guys were wondering about a scam email. Hope you don’t mind, us commenting, but thought we could help clear it up for you.

Jobsite.co.uk have no association with the companies mentioned in your posts, they are not clients of ours so do not have access to our CV database.

We have been in contact with some of the other major job boards and they all report that they too have been mentioned in these types of emails. They are similar to the scam banking emails that are in circulation - if you have an account with the 'Bank' that the emails has supposedly come from, then you could possibly be fooled, however, if you do not have an account with them, you immediately know it is a fraudulent email and we are no different in this regard. These scammers play on the fact that we are a well-known recruitment brand and jobseekers will probably have their CV on our site (and other job boards).
Unfortunately there’s a lot of scammers out there, but you just have to use common sense – if an email seems too good to be true, it probably is! All we can do is suggest that you delete the email you have received and do not enter into any correspondence with them. Hope that helps clear things up for you.0
