Help my house smells!

I use a litter tray with a hood and wood pellet litter, there's no smell at all and cleaning the tray out is a breeze because nothing sticks. The wood pellets are also very light compared to normal litter. I've used Pets-at-home and Tesco wood pellets and they're both very good.Dum Spiro Spero0

A breeder recommended to me to use chick crumbs which I thought was wierd but they are great. There is no smell at all.

well the offenders are on my lap and i know they are laughing my bulk order of catsan from tesco... and hills science plan - damned animals are expensive!
I've learnt that they can't reach some of the windows, so I've had them open, I've cleaned the litter trays in fairy liquid rather than cif and dried them outside. I've refilled with no liner and with some catsan (I did go get one bag) and now I'm just left with researching why one of them farts (really irony smelling loudly farts!).
thank you allIf you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -

I use the wood pellet litter which dont smell at all plus she was neutered as a kitty which helps apparently with strong urine.
It could be their diets if their stools are the smell issue.DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

Wow I've got a fresh smelling house! I ditched the litter liners, got some catsan and have just be removing the clumps - it's brilliant! I can't believe it took a forum for me to realise those tricks
I've got two more bags of catsan and some wood pellets on route tonight, so I should keep a nice smelling house until they are big enough to go out. thanks all!

The airfresheners make it worse, their trays are cleaned every morning and night and they themselves don't smell. We've got windows open where we can - what can I do? I'm thinking of old wives tales here- or the best cleaning products for removing cat poo smell.
Obviously I do love the critters but they don't half stink!
Pets at Home Simple Solutions stain and odour remover.
They do one especially for cats.
I haven't tried that one but I buy the dog one, not for the dog as such but for other smells.
I spilled some milk in the car and nothing would get rid of the smell, a few squirts of that and it vanished.
We rented a holiday flat for a week and although it was very clean, the bathroom was carpeted and reeked. It got rid of that straight away.
I can not rec it highly enough, it is brilliant stuff. It was about £8 a bottle but well worth it. You will need to put it into some sort of spray bottle as you won't need a lot.0 -
You can really cut down on the scattering litter by getting an enclosed litter tray, or for a low cost (maybe not so effective) solution put the litter tray inside a cardboard box with reasonably high sides.0

I agree with Ben84 about the enclosed/lidded trays, ours is completely enclosed with a little cat flap and there's no scattering all over the floor!Dum Spiro Spero0
