Can not open PDFs with Adobe Reader x

I have installed from updates sent. Uninstalled and reinstalled but to no avail, I am still unable to open my PDF files attached to e-mails.
Can anyone help please?
I have windows XP and have installed Adobe Reader X. Tried to re install 9 but it kept changing to X.

Are you just double clicking on the file you wish to open?
Try right clicking and using 'Open With'-then select Adobe Reader.

    I too use Foxit now.
Gave up on Adobe Reader ages ago, frustrated by the continuous stream of security fixes.
Mind you, Foxit is starting to go down the 'bloatware' route with V5.

I gave up on Foxit ages ago, with it's sneaky tricks to get you to install toolbars.

I now use PDF-XChange Viewer, it's also free and is not as locked down as Free Foxit.

    Move along, nothing to see.
  • What mail client do you use? It may be blocking the PDF from opening. Save the attachment to your desktop then try opening it from there.
