Hello
I am just getting the hang of all these savings accounts. My savings are literally just sat in a very low interest savings account. I have applied for the Coventry BS Poppy Saver account but just wanted to know whether I should put all my savings in there? I do tend to dip into my savings now and then. For example to pay off car insurance etc. Does the Coventry one mean that I can only withdraw from it four times in a year? So basically, I can't just dip into it when I want?
I opened an ISA today! Hurray! I am slowly becoming savvy I think!
My next move is small shares but I have no idea where to start!
Many thanksMiss Money :cool:0 -

Correct and if you closed the account that also counts as one of the four.
You might be better putting some in the Derbyshire Net Saver (Issue 1) http://www.thederbyshire.co.uk/Savings_Portfolio.aspx?id=3491 for "dipping" into. That account is "easy access".0 -
re. Coventry Poppy Online Saver
Is anyone able to confirm that with the Poppy account it asks if you want Monthly Interest when signing up online?
It appears the Derbyshire only pays yearly interest.
Thanks0 -
I don't remember a monthy option on this account when I signed up.
Edit - from below, there must have been one!0 -

Once again, excellant service from the Coventry. :T
Applied online for the Poppy account on Tuesday evening, received paperwork first thing Wednesday, signed and posted cheque same day and when I checked last night, the Poppy account all set up.
Have given the 30 day notice on my E saver for the transfer to the Poppy.0 -
