this has probably been covered in another thread but haven't found it, when abroad do i need to switch of cellular data as well as data roaming?
what is the difference between the 2?
thanks
Yes you need to switch off Cellular Data.
Differences:
Data Roaming enables data on different networks to your home one.
Disabling Cellular data prevents your phone from using GPRS, 2G, 3G or any mobile phone network for data.
Why this matters:
Here is an example. I am currently on Orange. I go to a country where Orange also has a network such as Orange France. If I have Data Roaming disabled but Cellular Data enabled, I can still go online however Orange UK do not have a data allowance when you are on Orange France and it would be classed as Data Roaming and I'd pay £3.07 per MB.0 -
Which is a rip off. Its the same company and costs them no extra.0
