You will have to take out a 12 month policy, tax the car, drive it to where ever you need to, take the tax disc or sell it to the new owner, register the car to them, return all car insurance documents under the 14 day cooling off period and arrange/argue for a refund, IF you dont have an accident.

Expect to pay an administration fee and "time on risk" cover.

If take out a 1 day insurance policy for £25 and HOPE that the post office will tax the car for you, some do, some dont.

The car is currently taxed and MOt'd so thats not an issue. Its not been SORN'd yet as we'd rather insure and use it, but it makes it a nightmare to sell the other car! God, why do they have to meddle with things all the time?

I've just googled short term insurance and seems plenty of hits so will get her to do a quote tonight and see how expensive it is to insure it for a month. Once she has it covered my own 3rd party to drive other cars clause should cover me to take it to her I guess? (we are not married and don't live together)
