Sony Ericson k300i - problem with Orange Answerphone
Hi,
I've accidentally done somthing so that when I press and hold down "1", or get a new message and choose to check it, I end up being connected to my work's swichboard. Somehow I've saved their number as the answerphone, but I can't work out where or how to change it.
In the phonebook, under special numbers, 07973100123 is listed as answerphone, and I can get to it that way, but does anyone know how to change it so I can get to my answerphone by pressing and holding 1, so I stop annoying work's receptionist? I've tried speed dials, but it's not there.
Many thanks.

Address book, Options, Speed dial. You must have stored it in 1. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I have tried that. If I press 1 then press call, it dials the answerphone, however if I press 1 and hold it down, it says "calling answerphone" but actually connects me to the office switchboard. Also, if I recieve an answerphone message and choose call, again I get the switchboard.Amazon sellers club - member number 63.

Are you saying that you have nothing stored in speed dial 1? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Yes, I have the answerphone number (07973100123) stored as 1. If I briefly press 1 then press call, I get the answerphone. If I press and hold down 1 I get work (although it says "calling answerphone" on the screen).
I'm confused!Amazon sellers club - member number 63.

Well you shouldn't have the answerphone number in there! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

That's not the problem though - if I go into messages and call ans. phone, that also connects me to the office, so somehow the phone thinks my work number is the answerphone service. I have tried deleting that number completely from my phone as suggested by Orange, but it doesn't help. Anyone know where the answerphone number is stored in the phone so I can change it back to the correct one?Amazon sellers club - member number 63.

Have you tried deleting the entry from speed dial 1 and then switching off and removing the battery. I believe that the answerphone number is stored on the SIM. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

OK, I've put the SIM in another phone, and under voicemail it's showing my work number, so it's stored on the SIM. But I can still not find a way to change it. I'll keep trying though!Amazon sellers club - member number 63.

Perhaps you could get Orange to send you a SIM update if you explain the situation to them. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

That worked! Many thanks for your help Espresso - and it's a shame the first two people at Orange didn't know to do that. I called back after I'd read your suggestion and asked them to do it, the guy agreed to send it but told me "it won't solve this problem though".Amazon sellers club - member number 63.
