on the beach wanting more money!!

Options
HI, i'm writing on behalf of a family memeber who has 7 days ago paid £2000 for a holiday with company on the beach (flights, hotel & transfers). 2 days later on the beach called & said the holiday was priced wrong it was meant to be £2600, the orginal £2000 has already been taken from the bank account & my family memeber has order confirmation via email. on the beach are saying unless the extra £600 is paid there will be no holiday. on the beach are offering the hotel money back & saying the £1100 flight money will not be refunded.

Is there anything we can do? Payment was made by debit card not credit card.

Thanks in advance for any help

    Which airline is it?

Have they got the airline booking reference?

Is it possible to find alternative accommodation for £900 in the same destination for the same duration?

Are they ABTA registered? If so they're trying it on. ABTA say they need to honour the price agreed or make a full refund.

If they refuse to play ball contact ABTA.

    From the ABTA website :
Q I booked a bargain holiday with a tour operator. The company has now told me that the price I booked at was wrong. Where do I stand?
A The tour operator can’t insist on you paying the higher price, but equally, however, you’re unlikely to be able to insist that the tour operator provides the holiday at the lower price. The most likely result will be that the tour operator will cancel the booking and you’ll receive a refund of any money paid.

Alan Bowen on here is the man to advise you on this one he'll know the proper answer, but till he comes along, i think that onthebeach either have to refund all your money if the holiday is no longer available at the price it was or stand the loss, i don't think they can make you keep just part of it. They've obviously made a mistake with the pricing but have already purchased low cost carrier flights and are stuck with them in your names, thats why they're trying to make you pay the extra £600.

They have two choices, let you have the holiday at the price you paid, after all price is one of the main factors in deciding whether to book in the first place or offer a complete refund. That means they lose the cost of the flights but that is not your fault, it is their error. On the Beach are ABTA members, if you ned to call them, ask for their pre departure officer on 020 3117 0500
