I would call the hotel direct again, you may get a different person who knows how to change it. We had exactly the same a couple of years ago, but the second time we called the person managed to change it.Always on the hunt for a bargain0

Well, phoned customer services at lunchtime, was on hold for ages, finally got through to a helpful guy who said no problem
Then he tried to change it but couldn't, said he'd have to ring the hotel to get them to change it & would call straight back.
2 hours later he calls, apologises for the delay & says it's changed to a family room.
Result.
Still showing as a double online, called the hotel confirmed it was a family room, 2 adults & 0 children?? She added a child to the booking no problem.
Phew, & a well done to Travelodge from me.0
