Amend Travelodge saver booking

Has anyone ever managed this?
I've booked a room for 6 nights from 14 august. I could swear I selected a family room, but the confirmation said it was a double. No problem I think as they're both the same rate and the help section explicitly states a saver booking can have the room type amended for a fiver fee. Problem is there's no amend button! Filled out the online help form, this gave me an auto reply saying - click the amend button!
So has anyone managed this? Or better still got a phone number for them?

I suppose other options are play dumb on arrival and see if they'll change it or pack the nipper's inflatable bed.

    There should be a phone number on the website. Go on the website, go on the hotel you are staying at and it should be there under the address. If you ring direct they will hopefully change it for free.

    Yes, I've done it with no problem (for the same reason as you, to change from a double to family room). I think you have to have registered and been logged on when you made the original booking to be able to amend the booking yourself online.

    Assuming that you are registered;

    As I did it using the old website I'll start from there (http://www2.travelodge.co.uk/)....
    (It's probably similar from the new website, but for some reason my only future booking doesn't show up there so I can't confirm that!)

    Click on the 'My Travelodge: Login' option at the top right of the home page

    It will then prompt you for your login and password if you aren't already logged in

    Once logged on it should then come up with a list of all your past and future bookings.

    Against the future booking you want to change click on 'show' to expand the booking details and it will then show 'amend booking' and 'cancel booking' buttons against each of the rooms covered by the booking.

    Then click on the 'amend booking' optino for the room you want to change.

    Thanks for the replies. Rang the hotel, very helpful, said she'd change it (5 family rooms available), computer wouldn't let her. Suggested I ring bookings. Rang them and my heart sank when I heard the foreign ring tone. Same again can't change it said it was because of availability, I point out there are 5 rooms available. We went back and forth before I hung up!

    As for the website as suggested, I have no amend button!!! Just a cancel one!! Looks like the blow up bed will be in use.

    When you get there, ask them if there is a family room available. Explain the situation :) I'm sorry they couldn't do it for you.

    Hey Buggles, my concern there is that there isn't a family room available. Trawling their help section says that you can't exceed the occupancy of a room due to fire regs.

    This is stressing me out a bit now, I've just checked the dates & family rooms are available, so don't know why it's like this. Will try phoning again, had to get back to work last time hence me hanging up on them.

    Did you go for the £1.50 cancellation thing? If so, cancel it and book again?

    I've got a room booked for 2 weeks time and my booking isn't even showing in "My Bookings" but I've had the confirmation e-mail.

    All they've got to is transfer you from one room to another, can't be too hard do on their computers!

    Good luck :)

    Looks like I need to appeal to their better nature, I've booked a multi night offer rate, not a saver, I just tried to do the booking again, you get a pop up saying non-ammendable & non-cancellable, which I remember :mad:
    I could have swore I selected family room, but obviously not.

    Didn't take the £1.50 thing as I didn't envisage this :mad::mad:

    I'm thinking I need to rebook, but will try an appeal to customer services.

    I read a thread on here where someone got vouchers for a similair mistake, may try this angle.

    If you are sure you clicked family room, then maybe it's an error on their side? I hope so and that they amend it for you free of charge.

    Going through the process again I can't be sure. Also, plenty of warnings about T&C's, have you checked details etc. I was a bit too clicky I think. It's going to be a case of ring up, own up & be nice & try to come to an agreement.
    As a sort of insurance against it dragging out & no rooms left, my Dad's booked it again for me properly on the cancellable flexible rate, hopefully it will get resolved & we can cancel & I won't have to pay him :(.
    At least with him doing it they won't see another booking in my name & think sod him!
