This is a perfect example of why minimum payments are so bad! When I first came here my min payments were £750+ a month. This month they are £557. £200 less than when I started!

Maybe I need to pay the extra at the start of the month! :undecided

Can you not set up standing orders so that a higher amount is taken automatically? Maybe £650 if you can live on what's left?

The principle being that the fact of having to change the standing order makes you think twice about the spending, whereas just having the money there its easy to think "I'll just pay a bit less this month".

OK well, if I want my gear I'm gonna have to raise the money now because I've just made a £400 payment to my Capital One card.

And do you know what? I actually feel ashamed at admitting this! :rotfl:

It felt better than buying all that stuff I did today! :D

Why is it that you think sensible things? When I have a Homer moment and talk to my head it just insults me and says boobies! :p :rotfl:

No no, don't be ashamed!! There is conclusive proof (not that we needed it) that you haven't lost the dfw spirit, your debt-busting habits are still a lot stronger than any spending tendencies!!

    :T

Yeah I've looked at them but aren't too sure about them! :undecided

As you know with angling you pay for what you get! I replaced [STRIKE]all[/STRIKE] most of my float fishing gear today. Got all my stuff knicked towards the back end of last year and did a major upgrade of stuff! :o

    I know what you mean,

We've bought a few things from them and they're getting better at imitating the recognised brands but I'd feel dubious about buying some high value items from them.

If it is a bait boat though, the technology is tried and tested and the Chinese are good at that sort of thing, I wouldn't have any doubts about something like that it's the quality of their top end rods and reels that we've always been concerned about.

Sorry to hear about you losing your tackle, that is a sh1te. We're still alllowed to keep ours in the house just, I've been more worried about baliffs taking them over the last few months but the old "hound" was always on the ball when it came to repelling boarders :D

We live in Lincolnshire so mainly the lakes that are dotted around from the old brick pits. We've never fished any of the real famous lakes it's something we never got round to doing. We've also fished in France but again not one of the better known lakes. We had some superb fun fishing in one of the big rivers, can't remember the name, and caught the most fantastic looking catfish, about 25lbs but not one of those ugly pot bellied specimens, we had to fight the locals off when they realised we were putting it back and one guy offered us 20 euros for it and thought we were deranged when we said "non monsieur, foof off".

Depending on where you are "down south" presumably none of the real big lakes are too far off?
