so we do seem to be close to stagnation territory. gentle[ish] falls in most parts of the country, [very] gentle increases in London.

    Wales: +2.8% MoM ;-4.4% YoY
South East: +1.3% MoM ;-0.7% YoY
West Midlands: +1.1% MoM ;-1.3% YoY
    East: +0.3% MoM ;-2.6% YoY
    London: -0.1% MoM ;+0.8% YoY
East Midlands: -0.4% MoM ;-2.9% YoY
Yorkshire & The Humber: -0.7% MoM ;-3.5% YoY
North West: -1% MoM ;-5.2% YoY
South West: -1% MoM ;-2.9% YoY
North East: -2.1% MoM ;-7.1% YoY
    FACT.
  • Some of those YoY values are quite large. does anyone know what the YoY figures were for the previous year?

    Especially for the worst hit:

    Wales: +2.8% MoM ;-4.4% YoY
North West: -1% MoM ;-5.2% YoY
North East: -2.1% MoM ;-7.1% YoY

These figures make some of the rather more bullish headlines of late seem more like ramping than reporting the facts. I know there is lag in the land registry reports, but even if we have had a few "good" months since the LR's data was compiled, I think it's a bit early for "whoopee do" reporting.

Looking at the LR report, I see annual price falls as the main theme. Depending on you stance, that could be good or bad news. I happen to think that it's a fair reflection on the state of the economy, and I believe it is what the property market needs at the moment to bring prices back to a level where things can start to move forwards again.

The property market doesnt need prices to fall. They need to rise.

No, you want/need prices to rise. Many others can see beyond their own personal "gain".

Anyway, I thought you said that "we" won't allow property prices to fall. It appears that some of you are allowing that to happen. Sibley, I think some of you are failing in your task.

That's surprising. Pretty stagnant then over the two years, for the most part.

If you jusy say 'I don't need prices to fall, I need them to rise' then we will leave you alone with your tinfoil hat.

I will say for a while back you were enter debates with some reasonable points, now you are just a troll.
