How long off is reasonable for a Broken Finger?

Not sure but I think you can ask for an independant assessment (which obviously you would have to pay for) by a third party doctor. Worth asking the legal eagle what you can do, and what grounds if any the employee has to refuse this (it may be that refusal could be disciplinary grounds in which case he may be on for the order of the boot!)Adventure before Dementia!0

most 'sick day' polices are based on periods of sickness. If you're off for one day in January, one in April, two in September and one in December then you're on four absences but if you're off for 6 months continuous it's only one absence.
Although if his finger is causing him so much pain that he needs so much time off you need to do your duty when he returns to work... Tell him that you'll be sending him for physio and he'll be on reduced duties (office work / receptionist / tea maker / cleaner) till you think he's fit to do his normal job :whistle:0 -
should add this is his 3 period of sick since april (8 days, 2 days and now 4 weeks). also should add thats more off sick than the rest of the comapny put together (19 full time staff) in 6 years. so it hasn't come up beforeThe futures bright the future is Ginger0

I'd check with your vehicle insurance. You may find he will not be covered to drive if they feel the injury would affect his driving ability i.e. not in full control of vehicle.
Could he be put on 'light duties'? e.g stock taking answering phone etc.0 -
Buy him a dress and tell him that if he's going to act like a girl he might as well dress like one.0

since he broke his finger on his holiday he is also entitled to claim his leave back, so if he had 2 weeks paid leave and fell ill during this time then it can be classed as sick leave instead of holidays.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0
