the only thing i have bought today was a £10 electricity top up. Does that count?
A friend at work even bought me a coffee x0 -
Thats fine as you NEED it. Just set up a budget and see what you really NEED not WANT or WOULD LIKE. There is a massive difference and this challenge is all about finding out what is a waste of money and where its getting wasted.
I think im really going to shock myself with the outcome of this.Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Well day 2 of the no spend challenge...think today will be a case of work in the rain as long as I can then home supper shower and bed. Not had much sleep past two nights so going to try catch up a bit tonight. Can't seen how this won't be a no spend day,not going to be near shops. :TWork in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Hi everyone
I've subscribed. Not sure about the whole month, but it's definitely motivation for me to cut back big time.
It's weird - I've been away camping and didn't 'need' anything the whole week, but the minute I come back home and get back to normal I can think of loads of things I 'need' to get. I figure I will put everything on a list and see if I still want it come September.
I think I'll be working a couple of weekends overtime this month so don't have much else planned - sounds like the perfect month to try something drastic!!!
Catch up with everyone later.0 -
Yep im in with the overtime idea!! This challenge will lower spending drasticly but could even up income. Keeping myself working and busy doing free stuff keeps me away from shops.
So for my day 2 update i know its a long way from over but id say its NSD no 2 out of 31! Stay at least 4 miles from a shop and im home and showered, dont plan on leaving my seat again until bedtime. Early night tonight, charge my batteries up and maybe try get a good shift in at work tomorrow. Roll on payday Friday...cant wait to see what i get!!Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Am really inspired by this thread, and when I mentioned it to my other half at the end of last week, and read him the webpage you linked to, I had expected him to scoff at it, so I had made out at first that I wasn't suggesting we actually do it.
But he thought it was a great idea, and said, Yeah I reckon we could do that!
So we are - and even better is that he thinks it was his idea for us to do it so he is more motivated.
Our biggest downfall is lunches at work, so we are making sure that we get everything in that we need in our main grocery shop so that there is no need to buy anything extra.
Our outgoings are obviously Rent, Council Tax, Utilities, Food, Child Maintenance for my OHs eldest, car HP, petrol/bus for me - although I am only allowing myself to get the bus when absolutely necessary and will walk when I can rather than thinking 'Oh I'll just get the bus'
So far doing well, yes I know it's only 2 days, but usually wouldn't have gone 2 days without spending any unecessary money. Needed milk yesterday and came out of Asda with only milkOtherwise would have been a tenners worth of sweets, a bottle of drink, some reduced food that would end up being thrown away as we didn't really actually need it.
Looking forward to reading how everyone else gets on...Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £1700 -

Well I've got off to a good start. Two non-spend days and that is whilst entertaining OH's nephew who was dying for me to take him into the arcade! Much better to go to the beach instead - free entertainment. Hoping for a few more NSDs although I think I'm going to need some milk soon!
Well done everyone who's got off to a good start. Lets keep it up!Debt free since 18/11/2011
