Hi all!
I'm joining for October. Hubs has been shopping today as he needed some new clothes and is scared of not buying anything for a month. I will be posting regularly as I will need the motivation.
Good luck!0 -
Hi, can I join for October - really need to start focusing again.
Have £500 to clear on a credit card but mainly want to put aside as much as I can for some building work next year, rather than take out a loan.

Hi, nothing spent today and managed to get some free passes for a show tomorrow, so am aiming not to spend then either, although with the weather so warm, an ice-cream may be on the agenda!Buy nothing for a month challenge - Oct

Hi all. Can I join in please! I'm trying to save for a wedding so I need some focus! Yesterday I bought an individual salad, reduced to 49p. Which I didn't eat. That's the kind of thing I really need to cut back on. Just signed up for the toiletries challenge. Am going to have a month of trying to use stuff up from the freezer and cupboards. Have got a lunch out with a friend planned for next week so I'll have to make sure there's a 241 voucher involved. I'm going to track spending this month so I can really see where the money leaks are. Would be great to get to the end of the month with a positive bank balance.
Good luck everyone.Clothes challenge 2011 £254.08/£500!!!Toiletries challenge 2011 Trying!:j:T:j0 -

Day 1: Spent money on food, but was strict and only bought stuff we really need and will use in the next month.
Day 2: no spend so far..0 -
Hi. Just read the entire thread! Such a fantastic idea. We are going to give it a go for October.
Our money in each month is approx £1220. Our outgoings are approx £980. So that should leave us with around £240, however, that never seems to happen! Hopefully doing this challenge will show us why.
Will be easy to start, we only have £6.20 to see us through for another 8 days. Have all the food and petrol we need, so fingers crossed.

Van is getting sorted tomoorrow and then motd and taxed on Tuesday......just 1 more reason why i need to stick at this challenge, costs that cannot be helped!! One thing i dont count is betting. I bet on football and have not deposited since April, i withdraw money every week or 2. So dont really count it as spending. Got a big accumulator on tonight, stand to win £1000, just waiting on one last team to come in for the money...not holding out much hope!!!Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Rictus - Have you looked into Matched Betting?
Not usually recommended for people who are already gamblers, but you sound like you have a pretty sensible head screwed on your shoulders so definitely worth a read up on.Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £1700
