Well done winchelsea:T, I would have had to come out with something:o

Spent 9.48 on eggs and vegetables and bananas yesterday. Went out unexpectedly for coffee with a friend yesterday afternoon, but it was her turn to pay. Nothing spent today:)
  • Thanks for the tip Lindayg. I do buy my diesel at the supermarket and I only put in what I think I'll need for the return journey. Before I got in to MSE, I used to fill up on the M4

I also have bought a more economical car, try to drive reasonably and always take a thermos and food with me for the journey. Alas, I can't see how I can get the costs down further. Although, I am thinking of maybe using the National Express for one of the journeys. again!

I'm currently in a hotel and fighting the urge to eat some chocolate from the mini-bar. If I resist, this challenge will help my purse and waistline!

So so motivated to do this challenge...im so looking forward to payday on Friday knowing its all going to be kept! Not a penny wasted.

Been at gfs last 24 hours, home now. Watched the film 127 hours last night, was really good, the end did drag on a little bit. Loved having another no spend sat night. Gfs parents also took us out for tea so free meal out and pint :D

Next couple of goals are, only 2 more spend allowed this month - phone and fuel.

Line up at least 1 homer, in other words overtime. So next month i can use the money from that to spend on going out and save my normal wages and make them not touchable except for the stuff i really need.

Bit gutted i had to pay for tyres and a battery for my van but ohwell needs musts!! Means i will have a larger surplus next month especially with being 3 pays instead of 2 plus a homer on top!
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.
  • Okay, I managed another no spend yesterday. Although it might be called cheating, since I was taken out for lunch. :D

Rictus, I too had an unexpected car payment. Took car in for MOT and service this morning. Car (very economical, road tax only £20 a year) is on a service plan, and I thought today's service was covered. Turns out the MOT is, but not the service - will be £240 plus any extras !!!!

Took out a 3 year plan when I bought the car second hand, 2 1/2 yrs ago. It turns out that it covers 3 years of MOT but only 2 services. Have checked the small print, it is horribly true!

Thank goodness I'm on this challenge - but may now have to stick with it for more than one month!

Next year it's back to the little local garage - they do a full service for £99.

  • I've blown it today.

Finally found a window lock that will work on my UPV windows (so they can be open , but secure, to stop 2 year old falling out). So I bought one. £18.

But I did make back about 40p by buying on Ebay through TopCashBack. ;)

Will have to think up some ideas on what to do Saturday...as im trying to stick to the no spends :D Keep it up guys, 15 days down, 16 to go...dinner time tomorrow will be half way point....best challenge ever :D

Days 14, 15 and 16 are NSD's but I'm going to have to get some toothpaste tomorrow. My youngest sucked the entire new tube I bought at the end of last month!

Will need food today, but will try not to spend actual cash. I have some C*-*p vouchers (divi points!), I think enough to get the bits I need. So will hopefully keep the purse closed for another day (need to after paying the car service and MOT yesterday!)

I am really looking forward to starting this challenge next month but for now will follow with interest and steal some ideas:D

Slight personal victory today as I talked myself out of getting a takeaway due to being run off my feet all day but I forced myself to make dinner and now feel very virtuous:A

saved about £15 I reckon for the 4 of us.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
