Great news Aginoth - do you have a piano? If not, it might be worth trying Freecycle or looking for another funder who can help towards the purchase of one for your son. otherwise, check to see if your local schools music service can loan a keyboard to you.0

Just looked at their website, it says the grants cannot be paid directly to the person for whom the grant is made, so who do they pay it too?not all on benefits are scroungers and don't need to be bullied!0 -
Was complicated, i have a post about it on here somewhere if you check. They paid the money to the childrens centre im involved with. My support worker then rang up CP and booked it, with the childrens centres card. It was applied for through my support worker, not myself. And CP's contract is with the centre and myself. xThe feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!

The link above will explain it better than I can - basically they give grants for disabled children (up until their 18th birthday) for items that will be of benefit to the child and/or their family. There are eligibility and income criteria that vary depending on which part of the UK you live in.Quid quid latine dictum sit, altum videtur0 -

It is a fund to help families with disabled children. Not everyone will fit the criteria - there is an income limit, which includes benefit income, and the child or children usually need a disability that impacts quite a bit on family life. I have a friend whose daughter is hard of hearing and has learning difficulties - she was turned down as her daughter wasn't deemed to have enough of a disability to affect family life to a large degree.
You can apply once a year if you fit the criteria, and the first award is usually larger than subsequent awards. Items that can be applied for include holiday vouchers, driving lessons, bedding, clothing, toys, white goods. they will also consider other requests - a few years ago, I needed a car seat that my son couldn't escape from, and the FF provided it for me.0
