Unless you're on a really bad rate, it's probably worth holding off switching until the dust settles..0 -
I am on a SP capped rate only been on a year cant remember how long is left (have to check) but I am sure it was mentioned that prices wree about to fall in the media but suppliers havent yet passed on the decreases. Wonder why its going up, has the Russian Mafia charging more to its suppliers?0

I quote from todays Daily express page 2
"Scottish and Southern energy, British Gas and Npower will all raise prices over the next week"
And on page 12
"Scottish and Southern Energy, British Gas and npower will increase their prices by as much as 40 percent in the next few days"
Are they well informed or scaremongering.
Happy New Year!0 -
Scottish and Southern announced their price increase from the beginning of 2007, ages ago.0

Yes I agree Scottish and Southern did the decent thing by giving plenty of notice and indeed British Gas have already announced Click energy increases, but from npower there has been a deafening silence. My point was whether the impending npower increases (according to the D Express) are in fact genuine.0

I think prices will be falling from about spring onwards.
However energy is bought in advance so energy being used now was bought at prices several months ago.
Therefore there will be a lag before they fall.
I think these current increase were already "in the pipeline" as it were.0 -

I have dug up some more info on the N Power price increase here.
