Big hug Froglet, this is a very worrying time for you. This happened to me about 8 years ago and with hindsight it was the best thing that happened and I took on the rent and all bills myself, found I could manage and bought a house but it was a very scary at the time so I feel for you.

i'm similar, in I bought my ex out of the mortgage, and worried how i would manage, strangely I seemed to have more money when he went, now 8 years on same as Tina, i'm doing really well if i do say so myself, i have a nice car, bills paid, over paying on mortgage and saving. This challenge helps cos it means i can have a few treats and save a bit more, hope in the next 18 months to be living on a barge and renting my house out, so i need to declutter and need to save a bit more.
  • I just LOVE the support people get/offer on here. Sorry to hear your news Froglet, but on the plus side it sounds like your friends are there for you! :D

Despite being well over target i haven't stopped. £4 saving from Tesco, £21.87 profit on Ebay and i went through my jewlery box and took all my broken braclets and odd earings and got myself an extra £89! I was only expecting around £20 but the prices must have shot up! My parents took some of theres and got an amazing £535... They have had a few problems lately (dad had a couple of heart attacks, mam has lost hours at work to look after him, ect) so the money has come in REALLY handy for them. They also bought me a new dress for a christening i went to yesterday. They bought it while we were out. They wouldn't give me the money to get myself something because my dad said "you'll just spend it on the kids or the house, i wanna see what your getting".... Bless him. True tho! Lol.

Funny story about the dress..... Yesterday morning i slept in (first time in the whole summer holidays would you believe!), so i was rushing around sorting us out for the christening. By 11.25am i looked in the mirror and thought, "wow, i actually look nice in this" (i have many negative thoughts of myself and would never dream of spending £40 on a dress for myself). Quickly rushed upstairs to put some perfume on. Tripped on something, cracked my head of the wardrobe, a big tub of moisterising cream on the top fell off and went EVERYWHERE....apart from my dress! Phew....Looked at the cream, thought "i'll sort it out later" because i had to be at church for 12noon which was a 20 minute walk away, ran out of the bedroom, somehow managed to catch my dress on the door handle, and all i heard was a huge RIP!!

Devestated wasn't the word. To top it off my head was starting to really hurt and i had to find something to wear in a space of 5 minutes. Ended up in my jersey maxi dress which doesn't need ironing. Felt awful. Went to the party after church, had a few drinks to get rid of my headache and ended up having a fab day! Also got lots of compliments on my dress.....Lmao

Hope that makes someone smile....remember, it doesn't matter how bad your day is, there is always time for it to get better!

I sold a few things on eBay over the weekend but I haven't received payment yet.
I'll update my totals when the money comes in.
I've got 18 items listed this week, so I hope that I can reach this month's target.

2p roadkill today. My colleague who I walked to lunch with said to me "oh well spotted!"
  • I've got £37.12 to add today. Just over £35 from hours in my second job & the rest in points and loose change that I have saved. This takes me to £341.53/£310 :T I'm really pleased with this achievement. Thanks to you all for your ideas and inspiration.

Next month I know that there will be few or no hours in my second job, should I go for £5 a day or an even lower amount but a little more realistic? Thanks for any advice :).
    2nd Purse #036 £46.69/£50.00 :) 3rd Purse £30.02

Muppet - I'm going to be in the same position next month, as it's very unlikely I'll have any extra OT available (just 5 or six days with extra hours available due to our peak period at a guess)

I've been trying to debate whether to still do £10 or drop it to something lower ... I'm veering between £7.50 & £5 atm ... I just feel that I'd struggle to keep going if I opted for less .. but then I'm not sure I'll manage to reach target even at £5 without the OT ... (where's that shrug smilie when ya want it ?)

Hmmmmm, will have to continue to ponder for a few more days before deciding ... ummm, you know - I used to be undecided ... but now I'm not so sure ..... :rotfl::rotfl:
