I took the children to the park today and it was soo hot. There was an ice cream van which sold ices at £1.50 to £2 ish. I walked the kids to Nisa and bought a pack of 4 crunchie ice creams for £1.25, minimum saving £4.75 for the four children. Can I count that?

Is this something that you would usually do? If so, then I probably wouldn't count it as you would never have spent the extra money in the first place. If it is something that you wouldn't normally have done, and did it trying to be more MSE, then I would probably count it as you made a conscious effort to save money.

£15.40 has fallen in my account in the wee hours and I've just booked my first ever holiday abroad! Very excited, its for my OH's 40th and I've told him we're going to Dublin as we have to catch a flight...we're actually going to Morocco! Eek, Im not going to be able to sleep now and I've got nearly 5months to wait! Anyway, my Sister works as a trolley dolly for Thomson and she's wangled me a code for £30 off online bookings and free flight upgrades so I'll add the £30. Theres a bit of cashback too but will add it when it hits. Im gunna have to hit the gym now...! :D:D
    £20k in 2023 = £2718 £2023 in 2023 = £196.41 Grocery challenge £250= £195.80 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**

I have noticed this type of thing in a few posts, what does it mean?

Roadkill, is rehoming any monies found, usually pennies so 35p is good going!

Good places for roadkill include, checkouts, outside shops (especially if teenagers normally hang out there!) bus stops, pubs.... places were people would usually get their cash out, maybe drop 2p and cant be bother to pick it up coz its just 2p.

Roadkill hunting can be very satisifying....find a silver one and you'll be chuffed! :rotfl:

    Hi Everybody,

Well I have alot on ebay at the moment so will see what happens at weekend when my listings are finished.

Sold another small item last night and have been paid but only £1.50 profit but it all adds up.

I am finding it hard going this month with the two kids off school my days start and end with very little time for anything.

Oooh, I love it when I check online banking in the morning, and find an extra £160 that wasn't there last night! :D

£65.50 is already accounted for as it's Ebay money transferred over from Paypal, that I've added to the challenge, most of it last month, so won't be naughty and count it again!!

    £10 was redeemed from MySurvey.

£36 expenses from work, but was from ages ago now, and was spent in bits for train/bus travel, so I'm adding it now as I've 'earned' it as I've had to phone them a million times to chase it up over the last few weeks so it does feel like 'free money' to me now.

    £48.50 MS profits.

Plus a little £1.98 that I saved yesterday as I bumped into my mum in Tesco, and was just picking up yogurts that we needed, and she put them with her shopping at the checkout and insisted that she would just pay for them with her shopping! :)
So that gives me a grand total of £96.48 to add today, which I'm rather chuffed with seeing as it's not even 9am yet!!

No normally I would have just paid out at the ice cream van - so thanks for replying. It might seem like a really obvious saving to some but this is not the way that I am used to living so it is going to take some getting used to.

Wow, that's very impressive people, couldn't dream of saving £10 per day in anyway. Started these surveys, to see how that goes.

Redeemed £20 in e-vouchers from my survey. They have only sent me code for £10 tho . Have had to e-mail them about the other. Never had any problems with them before so hopefully they should get it sorted.
Also got 2numbers on euro millions so i'll claim that today. Only about £2.70 but it all helps.
Anyway £10.70 to add so far (minus cost of lotto ticket)
