Wow look at that signature! You and taxi both in the 20s, I need to pull my finger out and catch up.

See, it is amazing what a regular salary can do :rotfl:

Or two regular salaries... with my OH being very far from regularly employed I don't expect to do as well as you too. :rotfl:

Yes, I have to admit that although my OH has many faults, he does manage to work a significant number of hours each week!

Hope the job situation is still good. It must be a good sign that you have not been on here for a few days either that or you are absolutely kna**ered - hope not.

Thanks you two. Jobwise all is good, but moneywise not good. This month I have transferred £3792 from my Egg card to my credit card - just to pay essential outgoings such as my season ticket, gas bill, one scout camp, and the usual monthly outgoings. Really really depressing to take such a big backward step.

But a season ticket is something you could not have been prepared for.......so don't feel bad about it - it is an investment into you being able to earn more money in the future.

No, I don't mind so much about the season ticket, as that means no train fares for seven months. But I'm shocked about the other £2,200.

I'm in the middle of transferring balances around, and hoping for some backdated child credits, so hope the damage won't be too long-term. But once everything has settled and the pay from the 2 new jobs starts to come through, I'm going to start this whole DFW journey thing afresh, I'm sick of my yoyoing total.

I agree - having a new base from which to start means that you can really take a grip of things.

For us, when OH changed his job last summer, and took a pay cut in the process, I used it as a chance to say "this is it - this is what we have to work with, so bloody well make it work, or else.....". As a result I really changed the way I looked at our finances, not quite a new LBM but not far off it really, and since then we have been in far better shape financially than for many years - still skint, but more in control of it.....no bank charges (although I know you don't have those, so not an issue for you) etc and once building that new base, it has been much easier to keep on track.....ok, the occasional wobble, and the occasional good fortune, but basically a whole lot more stable than before, and therefore more focused, and more able to reduce the totals....

It'll all work itself out in the end.As Hypno says you needed the ticket to work and obviously you have to wait for your wages to filter through but then you'll really get back into the swing of things.
