Ooooh it's so annoying. I had a 5.94% life of balance transfer offer on my Sainsbury's card so I transferred a big chunk off my Barclaycard to them two days ago. Today I rang up to transfer a little bit more - and they've dropped the rate to 3.94%.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

You've got nothing to lose by asking.
How's the new job? Have you settled in? Are you shattered at the end of the week, or invigorated and raring to go?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Well I've got a splitting headache this evening as I have found my new colleagues are a boozy bunch - they opened bottles of wine at lunchtime and we polished them off over the afternoon.
I am surprised how much I like the new job, it's not an area I've ever worked in before, so I don't feel as personally invested in it as I do with a lot of my work, it feels more of a transaction, which is OK. But the work is OK, the location is nice, the hours are really flexi, the colleagues seem nice enough.... The two day a week freelance number is more stressful really.
I've just agreed to do some freelance editing work too, so really hope that my income will go back up again and I will be able to pay off debts as fast as I did in my first year on MSE.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Well apart from the booze induced headache  things sound very positive! Onwards and upwards and looking forward to seeing that MSE spark returning!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Hi Sea, just found your thread and am slowly reading it. your situation seems very like ours and I'm fascinated to see how you've coped with the joys of contracting and irregular income.
Only learned this evening what the green light was and saw yours on, so quick pit stop "Hi!" and I'll return to 2007!!:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0
