The listing says 3 bedroom, but there are only pictures of 2.
That overhead shot makes the living room look tiny.
Aside from the living room, the pictures make all the rooms look tiny and cramped. In the photo of the second bedroom, the double bed looks like it is squashed against the wall.
You have a parking space but can only park in it Monday-Friday? What on earth do you do with a car if you go on holiday?
The kitchen being in the living room would be a major problem for me.
There are several similar sized 2/3 bed houses within 1/4mile for £25k less than yours. You have paid a premium for a penthouse flat, I'm guessing that limits your market somewhat.0 -
That first picture - I've seen it in films. Usually when the weird-kid-with-the-super-powers is being held in some windowless nursery in a military prison, prior to breaking out and destroying the world.3.9kWp solar PV installed 21 Sept 2011, due S and 42° roof.
17,011kWh generated as at 30 September 2016 - system has now paid for itself. :beer:0 -
It does seem to be horses for courses.
FireWyrm seems to hate it, but I think I'm in love!!!
Absolutely beautiful flat. I'm about to purchase my first flat so I may nick a few of your design ideas for mine.
Can't really comment professionally on the photos, but they're enough get my interest. Picture 1 does make the living room look half the size it really is. Not sure what bap98189 is on about regarding only pictures of 2 bedrooms, I can see pics of all 3 rooms.
Maybe people are being put off by the amount of glass in the property and the amount of up keep it requires.0 -
Thanks all for your detailed replies, I will edit the descriptions and have a look at what I can do with the Photos shortly.
The flat does have quite unique angles and spaces, one of the problems with a conversion of a library and there is therefore difficulty in taking good photos.
I appreciate all the feedback and concur that photos are needed of the exterior and so on.0 -
The aerial view of the lounge from the mezzanine makes it look small, and doesn't show that it extends under the mezzanine.
The bed up against the wall makes the room look impractical
With the Victorian arch and skylights, all I'd be thinking is - I'll have to duck under the arches, and - how the **** am I going to clean the windows?
I'm 6ft3ins - could I walk under the arches without ducking?0 -
Naughty HouseNetWork!
I was extremely surprised by the photographs. We also sold through them and had beautiful photographs (if far too many!)
Get them back to redo them - ask for their most experienced person (agree with the work experience comment LOL)
I agree with all the above comments. That first picture would put anyone off! Most people whizz through Rightmove and probably don't study the photos in such detail as the guys on this forum.
You need immediate impact with the first photo. Then someone will bother to continue looking at the rest.
You must have the outside of your property. If it's not there people will suspect the worse. Why didn't they take a picture?
I am sure there is someone out there who will love it! Don't despair, it's not that long!0 -
Googler,
Thanks for that, I've removed that picture of the vertigo. I've also considered the second bedroom one and will retake with the beds out. For the arches, there is only one room this impacts and yes I am 6ft 2", I can walk under it in the centre, but otherwise have to duck. One of the perils of these old buildings. Windows, outside is easy of the bedroom. The roof requires access, but it is apparently "Self Cleaning Glass", heh.0 -
Your two major problems are and always will be the main road and the parking situation.
I know Tweedy Road and definitely wouldn't buy on it - sorry! The fact it's a red route makes it even worse.
Beautiful flat, very quirky with great features, and a fairly good layout - but I wouldn't consider it in a million cos of the parking situation.
As above, that bed shoved up against the wall looks odd. I'd definitely make that look like a nice bedroom. Won't make it more attractive, but you need to show that flat in its best light.
Definitely take a picture of the outside of the flat!

Thanks Hazy,
I concur this is one of the issues. We are somewhat lucky, all window face rear away from the main road and we do have a parking space allocated with secure post and so on for 7 days a week. What has happened is that the Council Wardens ticket on Sat/Sun on the basis the Council have lost lease documents (it's on the original planning application they approved that parking is 7 days a week and was bought by the ManCo). It's good we've got private spaces for the weekend just round the corner, but would be nicer not to make 20 second hops every Friday evening and then back again on Sunday Night!
We'll hopefully resolve the parking asap.
Thanks for your help!0 -
£300k and I can't even go away for a week and leave my car at home:
"Resident parking is provided from Monday to Friday with individual spaces for the flats. During the weekends the bays revert to Pay & Display. Residents therefore move their cars to a second private carpark, 25 yards away."0
