So i just spoke to a very lovely person at royal mail, who said that a claim has been received, they can see it hasnt been delivered to my address, and they believe it has gone some back in Bedford but they are not sure.

She gave me the tracking reference and told me to provide ebay with that when i escalate, they will contact RM and to confirm my details. she said the claim should be completed by august 5th. She also stated that i should be refunded via Ebay/Paypal and the seller will have to slug it out with RM.

things are looking up at least. im still a lil nervous (and will be until i have the money back) i will NEVER use an echeque again.

so im about to go to my second job - when I'm done ill head right home and Escalate.

I will keep you all updated, and Custardy is still looking into the tracking for me, but id like to thank you all for helping to calm my nerves and being so helpful.

    okay then
your missing item appears to have been addressed to your address(as per the 2nd tracking number you supplied that was successfully delivered)
now from collection it goes to despatchable to XXXXXXX area (the area you know it was delivered to)
so here there is an issue
why was it despatchable to that area and not your London Mail Centre?(it went via South Midlands MC)
it then went onto received at XXXXXXXXXX
then on delivery (delivery duty 0411 @ 0733
delivered via PDA @ 0809 (so its impossible for them to deliver to your address even if they did go to the right address)

now for it to go to XXXXXX delivery office and be delivered there had to be similar address for that area or 2 addresses on the package(Ive seen it happen)

I can forward text of the exact tracking data via PM/email for all 3 item numbers if you need it

I'm glad that it sounds as though it will be sorted out.
It won't have anything to do with it being an echeque that covered the payment.
It seems that the seller has c0cked up the addressing of the envelope.

Could it have gone back to the sender instead of recipient?
Or could it have been that the sender had used old packaging with another address on it somewhere.

    yup,totally possible
The OP can get the senders address via eBay
they can then contact the delivery office and ask if duty 0411 delivers to that address

Will there be any way that RM will pay out compensation on this if the sender has somehow got the item back & is claiming that he hasn't?
    I do hope so.

RM wont pay out if it has gone back to the sender ad for example the postie remembers delivery the item there
going by the time of delivery Im expecting its gone out on a van for whatever reason (large item?)
its all speculation of course and theres a lot of unknowns

It does seem odd though that a seller of an expensive item isn't bending over backwards to try & resolve the issue.
Unless he thinks the buyer is trying a fast one.
I hope this is one that we hear the outcome of, being a nosey cow & all that.
