Ebay Scam? Never turned up! Dodgy signiture and VERY iffy tracking

The guy at RM said the delivery address of the tracking was my house.
i have asked the seller for a scan of the proof of postage (or a picture). which he just ignored.
:-(
PM me the tracking number
I'll get a copy of the tracking from RMs intranet tomorrowI live in London and the item was coming from outside London (let’s say Derby just for the sake of it), the tracking said ‘ Parcel delivered at XX time from our DERBY delivery office. This rang alarm bells, because no postman is going to walk a route of over 100 miles and I had another item which I bought from ebay delivered on the same alleged day using the same royal mail method (and from outside London) which states it was delivered from my local London depot! Signed for by my family member!
this sounds more like the seller has supplied a tracking number for an item sent to them
any tracking delivered to your house will always track as delivered from your local London office0 -
Hi
When I have returned an item to a seller before that was of high value I have been asked to up load a copy of the proof of postage receipt to confirm I sent it to the address paypal told me to because the seller would not confirm topaypal he had the item back.
It maybe that they will do the same in this case as it sounds to me like the seller couldhave sent it to himself or a friend trying to pull a fast one
Either that or the tracking has got seriously mixed up0 -

I was just going to say much the same - one of my buyers claimed non receipt despite the tracking number showing as delivered. I won the paypal dispute but they appealed it stating that it showed as delivered but how could they be sure it was delivered to them and not to a 'friend of mine'. Paypla made me upload a copy of RM receipt to prove the address on the parcel.
I would guess paypal may do the same in this case??0 -
if eBay/paypal, whichever you use, decide in the sellers favour then phone them up and point out it was delivered to an address miles away from you, really you should have used a credit card through paypal to pay for that, because if you had used one you could phone them up, explain then initiate a chargeback, but too late now.
I hope for your sake that you win because thats a sh*t load of money to lose!0 -
unless its a visa debit card as if it is then don't they have some liability too. The receipt says where it was sent from (the local post office) then says the house number and post code of where it has gone too. If its more than 5 days since the money was paid escalate it to Paypal as they need to look into it for you more:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

Ok just to be clear, i opened a dispute in Ebay, but i wasnt to sure on what i should do next. be it escalate via ebay - or paypal.
its been more than a week since he has contacted me.. i was going to send him an email asking if he has had any more information (because i dont think it should take this long if he sent the form of next day recorded 10 days ago to RM)
also i was wondering if i said to him.. RM say the parcel has not touched London and theres a high chance it has been returned to sender, if he would miraculously have it and re-send it. at the same time he may also disappear into thin air etc....
once again thank you all for your help0 -
If you opened in ebay then you can only escalate in ebay. DO NOT (sorry for caps that's vital), attempt to open a paypal case, as you can only open a dispute in one, sometimes opening in the other can close them both & then you're bu55ered.
Have you pm'd custardy the tracking number as per post #12?
Hopefully you have, I would suggest that you wait for him to get back to you before doing anything else.0 -
You say that the seller had relisted due to non payment by a previous bidder, has feedback been left by the person who won it, or is there anything in the previous listing of it that looks dodgy, such as shill bidding or similar?0
