O2 broadband discount when leaving O2 mobile

At the moment I have an O2 contract via Carphone Warehouse. I am not using my phone much so when the contract ends shortly I am thinking of changing to a PAYG account with Vectone, but porting my existing number over to them.
Has anyone got experience of a situation such as this - do O2 Broadband realise what's happened and stop the discount?

Yes. You can keep the discount if you take O2 PAYG and topup at least once every 3 months - £10 outlay £15 discount.0

Thanks - but that's not what I'm asking - I want to know if o2 broadband will notice if I leave o2 mobile and use another provider. Vectone - 5p/min at all times, 5p/text. O2 PAYG - 25p/min, 12p/text0

The first word of my post gave the answer to that - yes. They even notice if you miss the PAYG topup.0

I am thinking of quitting my £15 pm o2 contract when it expires soon as don't use it much these days due to deaths/people moved abroad now.
(Q1) Is it permissible to move your mobile number from o2 pay monthly to o2 payg once your contract has expired????
(Q2) How is it best to time the payg top up / how do people do it?0 -
